Few things give the sense of freedom and wellbeing like riding a bike in spectacular countryside. While West Dorset is a great place to explore, we’d be the first to admit that it isn't exactly flat!

However, you won't need to worry about hills on one of our incredible electric bikes as they provide assistance just when you need it most, making cycling an absolute breeze.

My husband, 1 year old daughter and I had a great morning out cycling. Highly recommended even if you don’t think you’re fit enough.
We loved the electric bikes and our first tour (Bride Valley) so much, that we booked another one (Portesham and Upwey) for a few days later.
I would recommend these electric bike tours to ANYONE. We were a party ranging from 18 – 71 in age and EVERYONE just loved it.
My sister organised this as we were visiting from Australia, and it was really the best afternoon we had in the UK.
The bikes are really comfortable and easy to control and we couldn’t believe how straightforward they made cycling uphill.
We toured beautiful inland spots we would otherwise have missed. I will definitely do it again. Anyone who can ride a bike will love this experience.
Martin is a pleasure to travel with, full of interesting local information. Would I recommend his tour? Yes, with the greatest enthusiasm.
Marshwood Trails offered us the perfect opportunity to enjoy a lovely bike ride through glorious countryside with a very knowledgeable guide.
Apart from the true beauty of the area one must mention how simple it was to use the bikes and just how simple they made climbing the steepest of hills.
The electric bikes made it possible to see a lot more of the peninsula than we could have done in a day otherwise. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

What’s coming up for Spring and Easter…….

Spring is a great time to get out and see the blossom on the trees, smell wild garlic in the hedgerows and listen to the sounds of new life appearing in the countryside. Our guided tours are a wonderful way to see the most beautiful places in this part of the country.

On the Portesham and Upwey tour we are currently seeing wild deer grazing in large numbers. On the Isle of Portland at this time of year, we keep a careful look out for red kites and bottlenose dolphin near the Bill. Spring flowers and heady scents accompany us on our journey through the Bride Valley near Bridport. Check out our Calendar to find out what’s coming up.

Don’t forget that in addition to the guided tours we also do bike rentals for your own self-guided adventure and ‘try before you buy’ taster sessions with the very latest models to test for yourself.

Although the weather wasn’t brilliant we had a great afternoon biking up hill and down dale, something I definitely couldn’t do without a little help. With a little stop and a much appreciated hot chocolate we continued our trip round Dorset. We were thinking of buying an electric bike before the trip now it’s a definite purchase. A really enjoyable activity!

……..and finally. Spring 2014 also sees us change from Marshwood Trails and become ‘Jurassic Electric’. This signifies our focus is now firmly on all things connected with electric bikes. We are grateful for all the encouraging feedback we received as Marshwood Trails and look forward to meeting guests both new ones and those who have been before on our new journey as Jurassic Electric.
